SOLAR LENTIGO

Solar lentigo results from an alteration of melanogenesis, which is a modification of the processes that regulate the production of melanin (the pigment that colours the skin).
It is therefore a hypermelanosis (cutaneous accumulation of melanin). As the word suggests, the cause of solar lentigo is the sun, since it involves early aging of the skin associated with changes in melanogenesis mechanisms. They occur in people of both sexes.
